Oasis of Calm - Mindfulness technique

Updated: Sep 21

I have recorded a Mindfulness technique 'the Oasis of Calm' for anyone who wishes to disentangle or unhook from their thoughts.

This guided mindfulness technique is a powerful tool that helps train your mind to let go of busy thoughts, overthinking, anxiety and ruminating thoughts.

A woman meditates by a flowing river in a green landscape with trees. Leaves float on the water. The scene is calm and serene.
Place each thought, feeling or sensation on a leaf, and watch it float gently down stream.

You can use this mindfulness technique any time: morning, before sleep, night time, as a pre-meditation primer, or any time you feel tangled in overthinking. It’s particularly helpful for interrupting mental loops, releasing tension, and shifting into a calmer state.

Mindfulness Techniques have been shown to improve:

  • Emotional regulation and stress resilience

  • Focus and cognitive flexibility

  • Sleep quality and nervous system balance

  • Overall wellbeing and self-awareness

When practised regularly, even short moments of mindfulness can have a positive impact on how you feel and function.

How to use this audio, read first:

  • Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed

  • Sit or lie comfortably

  • Press play, close your eyes, and allow the imagery to guide you

  • You may wish to revisit this track whenever you need calm, clarity, or rest

After listening to this Mindfulness Technique:

Take a moment to notice how you feel. You might like to jot down any words, feelings, or images that stood out. This can help you carry the calm into the rest of your day.
